But once you\u2019ve got it growing happily, celery will provide you with plenty of crispy, fresh stalks whenever you need them. Although they might have a reputation for being difficult in the garden, with a little patience and know-how, you\u2019ll be harvesting crisp, flavourful stalks in no time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Growing celery from seeds<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Select a planting spot that receives full sun, as celery seeds require the right amount of sunlight accompanied by nutrient-rich soil.\u00a0Just loosen the soil to a depth of 12 to 15\u00a0meters\u00a0with a garden fork,\u00a0then mix\u00a0with\u00a0aged manure\u00a0or even\u00a0compost into the soil. If the soil dries out, the stems\u00a0won\u2019t\u00a0swell and will be very stringy. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">These veggies will become stringy and too strongly\u00a0flavoured\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">if<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> they go<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> short of<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> water, so ensuring that the plants have access to a steady supply of moisture throughout the growing season is essential.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0If growing\u00a0in\u00a0containers, be prepared to water regularly\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0summer as the potting\u00a0compost\u00a0dries out\u00a0rapidly.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Laying a thick layer of\u00a0mulch over the soil around celery plants after\u00a0planting<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">helps hold moisture in the ground<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">reducing the need for <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">watering constantly<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> Since celery plants love rich soils with plenty of nutrients.
