Even if you live in an area where winters are warmer, the shorter days and fewer hours of sunlight\u00a0likely leave\u00a0you with less time to tend to your garden.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">But you can still enjoy the\u00a0colours\u00a0of a spring and summer garden by adding a few winter-blooming houseplants to your collection. These\u00a0colourful\u00a0plants\u00a0give\u00a0you something to admire while you wait for warmer weather to return.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Bromeliads<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">An exotic plant that adds beauty to your home during\u00a0winter,\u00a0bromeliads have strappy leaves that <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">are topped<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> by\u00a0colourful\u00a0clusters of flowers in shades of red, orange, yellow, pink, purple, or white.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">An individual bromeliad plant will only bloom once, but it will produce offshoots that will grow and bloom as they mature.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">African Violets<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The flowers on African violets can last for several weeks, any time of the year, including during winter and can bloom continuously with proper care.
